Mission Statement
To support and fundraise for youth athletes of the academy, helping them access opportunities to compete nationally and internationally by covering expenses like registration, travel, and accommodations.
Committee Structure
- Chairperson: Leads meetings, sets agendas, coordinates with SaskBJJ Events tournament organizers.
- Parent #1 Coordinator: Assists Chairperson, steps in as leader if necessary.
- Parent #2 Coordinator:: Manages all funds, records income and expenses, prepares financial reports.
- Parent #3 Coordinator: Takes meeting minutes, maintains committee documentation, manages communications.
- Parent #4 Coordinator:: Organizes volunteer schedules, ensures committee presence at SaskBJJ Events, manages event logistics such as score keepers, athlete runners, door representatives, weigh in coordinator, Event T-shirt coordinator, etc.
- Parent #5 Fundraising Coordinator(s): Develops fundraising initiatives, coordinates with businesses for sponsorships, arranges promotional materials.
- Parent #6 Communications Liaison: Keeps parents updated on fundraising goals and upcoming events via the Complete Martial Arts and Fitness private group.
Primary Goals
- Raise funds to cover:
- Competition registration fees.
- Travel expenses (e.g., flights, gas).
- Accommodations for athletes and families.
- Other costs associated with national and international competitions.
- Develop and execute year-round fundraising initiatives.

Fundraising Initiatives
- Event Volunteering: Commit to volunteering at all SaskBJJ Events. SaskBJJ Events will donate a fixed amount for Athlete Development. Each event will require a minimum of 12 volunteers for each event. There will be three events each year.
- Sponsorship Program: Partner with local businesses for sponsorship packages in exchange for brand promotion at events.
- Merchandise Sales: Percentage of past event t-shirt sales.
- Online Crowdfunding: Use platforms like GoFundMe for additional support from the wider community.
- Community Events: Host community-based events (e.g., bake sales, car washes, silent auctions) with athlete and family involvement.
Parent Engagement
- Meetings: Monthly meetings to discuss goals, budget, and progress.
- Volunteer Requirements: Parents commit to a set number of volunteer hours per season.
